Our family-run team of professional swimming and safety instructors are committed to helping people of all ages learn how to swim in a safe and friendly environment. We’re lucky to have a diversity of qualifications in our team, allowing us to cater to babies and toddlers all the way through to grown adults in their first swimming lesson.

About Family Aquatics

Hi! We are Lorna and Kay, the founders of Family Aquatics in North Brisbane. 

We are a family owned and operated business that was established in 2020 with 40 plus years of combined experience throughout our team. Our swim school was built and now operates on the foundations of our core family values. We pride ourselves on providing a safe, fun and friendly environment, with the inclusion of a play area, a reception television, and of course, through our Learn-to-Swim Program.

Offering a level of support that will exceed your expectations, our swimming classes are safe, fun, friendly, and a comfortable experience. Each of our classes is capped at four students, so you get the most from each lesson. In our children’s classes, we offer progression and recognition awards to motivate and inspire children to learn and accomplish.

We have formulated our Learn-to-Swim Program on the principal teachings of Laurie Lawrence. We are committed to teaching our amazing community on how to become safer and more confident in and around water. Our Learn-to-Swim Program allows us the flexibility to cater to all ages and abilities. Our classes are run mornings and afternoons, Monday to Saturday.

Qualifications & Experience

Our passionate and dedicated team of instructors hold AUSTSwim, ASCTA and Access and Inclusion accreditation. Our centre is proudly working towards being Puggles accredited.

Small Class Sizes

We offer semi-private classes, with a total of four students per class and a maximum of two classes in the pool at any given time. This ensures that your child receives a more personalised experience. We do also provide private lessons if preferred.

Award System

As a way of encouragement, we offer an individualised award system, celebrating each achievement through our Learn-to-Swim program.

Heated Magnesium Mineral Pool

Our indoor pool is heated to a temperature of 33 degrees, making it ideal for year-round swimming. We have been fortunate to have been able to upgrade to Magnesium Mineral, which provides a healthier environment for your child and is gentle on the skin and eyes.

Open All Year Round

As swimming is a fundamental skill for life, our centre is open all year round, including the term holidays, to allow your child every opportunity to learn and practice.
